KPD arrests man found hiding in Dollar Tree stockroom after breaking and entering report

On May 22, 2026, KPD’s D-Squad responded to a report of a Breaking & Entering at the Dollar Tree located at 201 W. Vernon Avenue. Through remote access to the security camera system, the caller was able to provide officers with real-time updates while officers responded to the scene.

Officers arrived and, with the assistance of K9 Kilo, located 24-year-old Meson Platt hiding inside the stockroom. Platt was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the LC Jail.

Platt was charged with the following:

• Felony Breaking & Entering

• Larceny After Breaking & Entering

• Resisting a Public Officer
