JCPS BID for TINT
The Jones County Public School System, address 320 West Jones St. Trenton, NC 28585, invites safety and security window film contractors to bid on the Jones County Window Filming/Tinting services of the Jones County Board of Education, Pollocksville and Maysville Elementary and Trenton/Jones Senior High School. Sealed bids will be received by the Office of Finance in the Jones County Administration Building, Board room, located at 320 West Jones Street Trenton, North Carolina 28585, by 3:00 p.m. on May 8, 2026. All bids will be opened and read aloud starting at 3:00 pm. This project will be bid and awarded in accordance with G.S. 143-131, Informal Bidding Procedures.
The project consists of the installation of window tint on the front/side doors of the Board of Education, front doors of Trenton/Jones Senior, classrooms at Trenton/Jones Senior High( approximately 186 windows and 42 doors), front entrance/side entrance Maysville Elementary and the front doors of Pollocksville Elementary. The schools will need safety and security films that reduce visibility and limit entry ability. Student Services/Safety Director, Laura Parks, from Jones County Schools will be available to answer questions concerning the project. Performance and Material Payment Bonds not required for this contract. Jones County Schools has a verifiable ten percent (10%) goal for participation by minority businesses in the total value of the work. Bidders are required on school construction and renovation projects to make a “good faith effort” to meet this goal.
Bidders shall identify on its bid the minority businesses that it will use on the project. Bidders shall submit along with the bid an affidavit listing the “good faith efforts” it has made pursuant to Section I – Information for Bidders, Article I-8, Minority Participation, and the total dollar value of the bid that will be performed by the minority businesses. A bidder that performs all of the work under the contract with its own workforce may submit an affidavit to that effect in lieu of the aforementioned affidavit otherwise required under this subsection. Jones County Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the School System.
