LCSO: Traffic Stop Leads to Fentanyl Arrest

A traffic stop conducted by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, Street Crimes and Rapid Response (SCARR) Team, resulted in the arrest of a Goldsboro man on narcotics charges.

On March 18, 2026, Deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office SCARR Team were traveling on Pauls Path Road near Kelly Road when a red passenger vehicle crossed the center line and nearly struck a deputy head-on. Based on the observed violation, deputies initiated a traffic stop.

Deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Kevin C. Lewis, 36, of Goldsboro, North Carolina. During the course of the investigation, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately 3.05 grams of fentanyl, along with drug paraphernalia.

Lewis was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:

  • Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Lewis was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where he received a $200,000 secured bond.
