Commissioners to consider amendment to economic development agreement
Jones County commissioners will review a proposed amendment to an existing economic development agreement during their Jan. 5 meeting.
County Manager Kyle Smith is scheduled to present the item during the new business portion of the agenda. Details of the amendment were not included in the meeting packet summary, but the item suggests changes to terms previously approved by the board.
Economic development agreements typically involve commitments related to job creation, capital investment, or incentives offered by the county.
Commissioners are expected to discuss the amendment before voting on whether to approve it. The Jones County Board of Commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at the Jones County Agricultural Building, located at 110 Market St. in Trenton. The meeting is open to the public.
