Evelyn Dove Coleman: Tyler Perry's "Temptation"
Tyler Perry's movie called "Temptation" is not new. It was made available in 2009 I believe. But I just got a chance to sit down and watch it. It is three hours long. But it takes a whole lot of action for that one movie to maturely weave its way. UNC was way behind in the football game, so I turned to BET to watch the movie.
The gist is that a beautiful country girl was so naive that she left a good guy. His goodness did not fail her when she needed him still. And her naivete did not keep her from eventually reaching her professional goals. I always want to watch the fairy-tale endings in movies. But Mr. Tyler Perry portrays life as it mostly really is.
I guess he hopes that if we see enough of his shows, we will learn from the mistakes of his characters, instead of having to repeat their experiences. Or perhaps he is simply allowing the human condition to be on display so we will not think we are the only ones doing life like hard time.
