South Lenoir Graduate Rachel Noble Named U.S. Presidential Scholar
Lenoir County Public Schools proudly announces that Rachel Noble, a 2025 graduate of South Lenoir High School, has been officially selected as a U.S. Presidential Scholar. One of only 161 students nationwide, and one of only three students from North Carolina to receive this honor, Noble is the first LCPS student to be recognized with this prestigious award.
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, established in 1964, is considered one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students. Each year, it recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding seniors in academics, the arts, and career and technical education. Noble was nominated and advanced through a rigorous application process that highlighted her academic achievements, leadership roles and dedication to service.
A standout student during her time at South Lenoir High, Noble balanced rigorous academics with athletics, competitive dance, and leadership in FFA. She graduated with both her high school diploma and an associate’s degree from Lenoir Community College, and today she attends NC State University as a Park Scholar on a full-ride scholarship. She is majoring in Agricultural Business Management and plans to pursue a law degree with the goal of becoming an agricultural lawyer.
“Rachel’s selection as a U.S. Presidential Scholar is not only a reflection of her incredible talent and determination, but also of the support she received from her teachers, family, and community,” said Superintendent Brent Williams. “She is a shining example of the excellence we strive for in Lenoir County Public Schools, and we are extremely proud of her achievements.”
LCPS celebrates Rachel’s success as both a milestone for the district and an inspiration to current and future students. Her recognition as a U.S. Presidential Scholar underscores the strength of LCPS programs that empower students to pursue their passions and achieve at the highest levels.
