Kinston woman arrested after spraying liquid, leading police pursuit
On September 11, 2025, at approximately 1:04 p.m., Kinston Police Department officers responded to reports of a woman spraying an unknown liquid on individuals at two locations, Walmart and Piggly Wiggly (2407 N. Herritage Street).
Officers located the suspect, 53-year-old Charice Harris, seated inside an RV at the Piggly Wiggly. Harris refused verbal commands and drove away, initiating a slow-speed pursuit. The pursuit concluded on the 200 block of E. Shine Street, where officers made a forced entry into the RV and safely took Harris into custody.
Harris was transported to the Lenoir County Jail and charged with:
• Felony Flee to Elude Arrest
• Resisting a Public Officer
• Multiple motor vehicle violations
