Arrest made in drive-by shooting investigation on Ferndale Lane
On July 10, 2025, at approximately 2:11 a.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department responded to a report of a drive-by shooting in the 1100 block of Ferndale Lane. Upon arrival, officers located a 42-year-old male victim who had sustained an injury to his right arm. The victim was transported to ECU Health for treatment. Further examination revealed the injury was caused by glass fragments, not a direct gunshot wound.
Following an investigation, KPD Detectives obtained warrants for 25-year-old Tyler Davis of Browns Summit, North Carolina. Davis is charged with the following:
-Attempted First-Degree Murder
-Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
-Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property
-Malicious Assault in Secret
-Injury to Personal Property
-Injury to Real Property
-Discharging a Firearm within City Limits
On July 28, 2025, Tyler Davis voluntarily turned himself in to the Goldsboro Police Department. He was subsequently booked into the Wayne County Jail.
