Search Warrant Leads to Firearms Seizure and Arrest in Attempted Murder Investigation
On July 29, 2025, Kinston Police Department Detectives continued their investigation into the July 26, 2025, attempted murder that occurred in Richard Green Court. As part of the ongoing case, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence of 18-year-old Cameron Williams, located in Carver Courts.
During the search, detectives recovered two firearms, various weapon accessories, and ammunition. One of the recovered firearms had been reported stolen out of Greenville, North Carolina. Cameron Williams was arrested at the scene and charged with the following:
-Possession of a Stolen Firearm
-Communicating Threats
-Resist, Obstruct, and Delay
Williams was transported to the Lenoir County Jail and held without bond due to a violation of his pretrial release conditions.
Previous Release: A 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested for Attempted First-Degree Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury (AWDWIKISI).
