Three arrested after South Davis Street shooting in Kinston
On June 28, 2026, at approximately 11:37 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department's B-Squad responded to 316 South Davis Street following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located 21-year-old Andre Hall suffering from a gunshot wound. A second victim, a 15-year-old juvenile, was also shot at but was not struck.
Officers immediately rendered lifesaving aid to Hall until Lenoir County EMS arrived. Hall was transported to ECU Health, where he remains in serious condition.
Kinston Police Detectives responded to the scene and launched an investigation. Through witness interviews and the review of video evidence, detectives identified multiple suspects. The investigation has resulted in the following arrests:

Two Counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder
Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury
Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
Two Counts of Malicious Assault in Secret
Six Counts of Felony Conspiracy
Injury to Personal Property
Discharging a Firearm Within the City Limits
Dexter Washington, 22, of Raleigh
Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Simple Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance
Carrying a Concealed Gun
Zaire Corbitt, 23, of Kinston
Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Simple Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance
Carrying a Concealed Gun
