Kinston Police Arrest Suspect in June 2 Shooting
**Case Update**
The Kinston Police Department has identified and arrested 18-year-old Jaymeon Foye of Kinston in connection to a shooting that occurred on June 2, 2025.
Following an extensive investigation, the KPD Investigations Division obtained arrest warrants for Foye, charging him with the following offenses:
Going Armed to the Terror of the Public
Attempted First Degree Murder
Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury (AWDWIKISI)
Discharging a Firearm Within City Limits
On June 16, 2025, at approximately 10:20 a.m., officers with the Violent Crime Action Team (VCAT), along with members of C-Squad and the Investigations Division, located and took Foye into custody without incident at his residence on the 1900 block of Carey Road.
At this time, no additional arrests are expected in connection to this case.

Shooting Investigation
On June 2, 2025, at approximately 7:04 p.m., the Kinston Police Department responded to UNC Lenoir Health Care after receiving reports that two gunshot victims had arrived at the hospital by private vehicle.
The victims were identified as 31-year-old Shamel Street and 20-year-old Saquan Jones, both of Kinston. Both individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Through preliminary investigation, officers determined the shooting occurred in the 1400 block of Old Snow Hill Road during an altercation involving unrelated individuals.
The Kinston Police Department’s Investigation Division is actively investigating this incident. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
