Kinston Police Investigating Fatal Shooting

On May 7, 2026, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the Kinston Police Department responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Stadiem Drive and Nobles Lane.

Officers arrived on scene and located 28-year-old Marquez Lewis of Kinston suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts; however, Mr. Lewis ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

This investigation remains active, and detectives are continuing to follow up on information; therefore, no further details will be released at this time.
