Two arrested following hit and run into structure on Herbert Drive
On July 26, 2025, at approximately 2:42 a.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad responded to the 900 block of Herbert Drive in reference to a vehicle that had crashed into a structure. While responding, officers were advised that the driver was attempting to flee the scene.
Upon arrival, officers learned the driver had left the area with another individual. Witnesses provided a description of the fleeing vehicle along with a license plate number. Officers located the suspect vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Park Avenue and initiated a traffic stop.
Due to visible injuries sustained in the crash, EMS was requested to the scene. Both individuals were treated and later released from medical care. Once cleared, they were taken into custody in connection with the crash and fleeing the scene.

-Careless and Reckless Driving
-Failure to Maintain Lane Control
-Failure to Wear Seatbelt
-Open Container of Alcohol
Stefan Everett, 30, of Kinston – driver of the vehicle Styles fled in:
-Felony Conspiracy
-Driving While Impaired (DWI)
-Simple Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance
-Littering
-Speeding
