Six charged after stray bullet strikes Lenoir County man

On June 21, 2025 around 1729 hours deputies responded to the 3300 block of Fountain Hill Dr. in Lenoir County for the report of a gunshot wound. Once on scene deputies found Tucker Williams (22) suffering from a wound to his head.  Mr Williams was working in the yard and was blowing off his driveway when he was struck by the stray projectile. It was discovered that the projectile came from across the wood line at 6960 Skeeter Pond Rd. It was discovered that six individuals were target shooting at this address. A family member of Mr Williams questioned the individuals in reference to target practicing and explained that a bullet had struck Mr Williams. The six individuals departed the area prior to Lenoir County Deputies arriving on scene.  

Pitt County officers were made aware of the incident and Greenville Police Department Officers located four of the individuals on a traffic stop in Greenville, NC. LCSO detectives responded to Greenville and arrested the four individuals. The other two individuals were not in the vehicle at the time the vehicle was stopped by Greenville officers.  Handguns were also recovered on the traffic stop.  

Charges are as follows: 

Drequan Reid (27) of Greenville, NC- Assault with a Deadly Weapon (M) $2500.00 unsecure bond. 

Tyrell Shavon Barnhill (26) of Greenville, NC- Assault with a Deadly Weapon (M) $2500.00 unsecure bond. 

Tymize Dyrell Barnhill (25) of Greenville, NC- Assault with a Deadly Weapon (M) $2500.00 unsecure bond. 

Tyshawn Dodd (28) of Greenville, NC- Assault with a Deadly Weapon (M) $2500.00 unsecure bond.

Warrants were also obtained on the following individuals: 

Jordan Daniels (19) of Greenville, NC- Assault with a Deadly Weapon (M)  

Daryl Antwan Boyd (25) of Greenville, NC- Possession of Firearm by Felon and Assault with a Deadly Weapon (M) 

Victim was treated and released from ECU Heath Medical Center.

The shooting was not intentional but showed gross negligence on behalf of the six individuals target practicing. 

No pictures are available due to all individuals being released at the magistrate’s office and not being processed in the jail.
