Wanted individual arrested; Additional drug charges filed

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 4:19 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad received information regarding the whereabouts of 26-year-old Montaris Johnson, who was wanted in connection with a 2024 fraud investigation.

Officers located Johnson on the 1600 block of West New Bern Road and took him into custody without incident. Johnson was served with eight outstanding felony warrants related to fraud.

During the arrest, officers also discovered over 30 grams of marijuana and various items of drug paraphernalia. As a result, Johnson was additionally charged with the following offenses:

Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana

Manufacture of Marijuana

Aggravated Possession of Marijuana

Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
