Disturbance call leads to drug arrest at local hotel

On May 8, 2025, officers with the Kinston Police Department's B-Squad responded to a reported disturbance at the Quality Inn located at 200 W. New Bern Road in Kinston.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Chasity Wilburn, a 36-year-old resident of New Bern, NC, and a male subject. Based on their behavior and statements made during the encounter, officers initiated a further investigation.

As a result of the investigation, officers discovered methamphetamine and Buprenorphine/Naloxone (a Schedule III controlled substance), along with drug paraphernalia.

Wilburn was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lenoir County Jail. She has been charged with the following:

Possession of Methamphetamine

Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Wilburn is being held under a secured bond.
