NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Fiscal Year 2025-2026

Manager’s Recommended Budget

In accordance with N.C.G.S. 159-12(b) for the purpose of taking comments from the public with regards to the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget, as proposed and submitted by the County Manager to the Board of Commissioners on May 5, 2025, the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, June 16, 2025, during the regular meeting of the Commissioners which begins at 4:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Chambers located at 101 N Queen Street, Kinston, NC, second floor. 

At the time of the public hearing, the Board may adopt the FY 25-26 budget and budget ordinance or they may adopt these measures at a later date, but no later than June 30, 2025.  

The Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget, as submitted, for Lenoir County government, proposes not to use appropriated fund balance to balance the budget, revenues of $84,186,782 with the tax rate decreasing to $.675 per $100 valuation of property listed in Lenoir County for taxation as of January 1, 2025.  The noted revenue neutral rate is $.6394 per $100 valuation.
