KPD Assists in Arrest Leading to Heroin Trafficking Charges
On May 10, 2025, officers with the Kinston Police Department’s C-Squad responded to a request from the Beaufort Police Department to check the area of Walmart for a vehicle linked to an unauthorized use investigation.
Officers located the vehicle parked in the Walmart parking lot . It was occupied by two individuals—Justin Dixon, 37, of Newport, NC, and Sierra Willis, 21, of Beaufort, NC—who were asleep at the time officers made contact. Dixon was identified as the primary suspect in the Beaufort Police Department’s case.
Dixon was taken into custody without incident for multiple outstanding warrants and orders for arrest from Carteret County. During a search incident to arrest, officers recovered more than 10 grams of heroin from Dixon’s person. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Dixon was charged with the following additional offenses:
Trafficking Heroin (2 counts)
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Sierra Willis was also arrested at the scene and charged with:
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
