Obituary: Christopher David Briley

Christopher David Briley, 56, of Hubert, NC passed away in Morehead City, NC on February 5, 2025.

He was born in Greenville, NC on January 30, 1969, to James Randy Briley and Margaret "Peggy" Mewborn Briley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy; his grandparents, Ronald Earl Mewborn Jr, “Sam” and Martha Hardison Mewborn, both of Kinston; and Richard Wooten Briley and Peggy Minton Briley of Greenville. Survivors include his father, James Randy Briley and step-mother, Carol Chandler Briley; sister, Stephanie Briley Fidler (Doug); step-sister, Lauren Dabbs Renaud (Andrew); nieces, Cassidy Carlton Gant (Justin) and Brittany Nicole Durham (Matthew); nephew, Walker Renaud; great nephew, Everett Gant; great niece, Briley Gant; and close cousin, Angela Mewborn Tyndall among many other cousins, aunts and uncles.

A graveside service was held at Westview Cemetery in Kinston at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, officiated by Dr. James R. Chandler, Jr.
