Lenoir/Greene United Way is proud to announce Dr. Brandy Harrell as President-Elect of the Board of Directors, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to creating lasting, equitable change across our community.
Lenoir/Greene United Way’s mission: to mobilize the caring power of the community to improve lives, is strengthened by leaders who understand both the systems that shape opportunity and the lived experiences of those most impacted by them. Dr. Harrell brings a proven record of collaboration, accountability, and community-centered leadership that aligns seamlessly with United Way’s focus on education, financial stability, and health, with equity at the core.
Throughout her career, Dr. Harrell has advanced initiatives that promote whole-person well-being, strengthens families, and builds sustainable pathways to long-term stability. Her work spans locally and nationally, reflecting a deep commitment to expanding equitable access to health care, education, and economic opportunity for individuals and families.
Dr. Harrell currently serves as a Councilwoman, where she is recognized as a strong advocate for community-driven solutions, policy innovation, and responsible stewardship of public resources. Her ability to bridge community voice with institutional decision-making positions her to lead with clarity, compassion, and strategic vision.
As President-Elect, Dr. Harrell will partner with the Board, staff, and community stakeholders to:

• Ensure responsible stewardship of resources
