Felony Flee to Elude Arrest Made Following Vehicle Pursuit

On December 18, 2025, A Deputy with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office C Shift observed a white Chevrolet Malibu traveling at a high rate of speed on W. Washington Street in La Grange.

Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle on Brothers Road. The driver failed to stop and accelerated to speeds exceeding seventy miles per hour, disregarding multiple duly erected stop signs at the intersections of Brothers Road and Bryan Hardy Road, as well as Byrd Road and Wheat Swamp Road.

The vehicle continued into Greene County, where it was eventually stopped on Peter Grant Road in Snow Hill. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.

The driver was identified as Burnette Dash III, age twenty-seven. Dash was transported to the Lenoir County Magistrate’s Office, where he was charged with Felony Flee to Elude with a Motor Vehicle. He received a fifteen-thousand-dollar secured bond and was placed in the Lenoir County Jail.
