Disturbance Call Results in Arrest
On November 26, 2025, at approximately 11:40 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s C-Squad responded to Carver Courts regarding a reported disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with 25-year-old Ashley Baker, who was irate, refused to leave the area, and struck an officer with a car door. Officers attempted to place Baker into custody, at which time she began actively and physically resisting. After a brief struggle, officers were able to take her into custody. One officer sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Due to Baker’s impairment and overall behavior, officers requested EMS. While being evaluated, Baker attempted to resist EMS personnel, attempted to assault them, and began spitting at officers. After receiving medical treatment, Baker was transported to the Lenoir County Jail.
Baker was charged with the following offenses:
- Drunk and Disorderly
- Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer Inflicting Injury
- Resisting Arrest
- Malicious Conduct by a Prisoner
Baker remains in the custody of the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
