Meet the Ensemble Nuns Bringing Spirit to The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music welcomes a devoted Nun Ensemble whose blend of wit, warmth, and quiet strength anchors the story. Their voices and presence turn a beloved favorite into a feel-good journey—uplifting when it should be, moving when it matters, and full of life throughout. Bring the people you love and share the joy together.

The show, directed by Lenoir Community College’s Jessica Cruz, will take place November 14-16 and November 21-23, 2025, at LCC in the Briley Auditorium on the Turner Stage. This production is part of the LCC Foundation Performing Arts Series. Tickets are available now at www.lenoircc.edu/lccfpa. Ticket prices: accessible seating $15.00, orchestra seating $20.00, standard seating $15.00, and student standard seating (ages 4–17; 18+ student ID required) $10.00.

The following cast members will be joining the abbey as members of the Nun Ensemble.

Kim Scott is thrilled to join the cast of The Sound of Music for her first show with LCCFPA. This marks her third production of the musical after twice portraying Sister Margaretta. She frequently serves as a music director for theatres in Craven County and is excited to bring that experience to Turner Stage as part of the Nun Ensemble.

Laura Elizabeth Duvall resides in New Bern, NC, where she works as a private caregiver. In her spare time, she loves being part of the arts and sharing her musical talent. She thanks her biggest supporters—her loving husband, Ken; her children, William, Abigail, and Jonathan; her sister, Melissa; and her nieces, Anah and Eden—as she joins the Nun Ensemble.

Maeghan Murray is ecstatic to make her LCCFPA debut in The Sound of Music, appearing as a Nun, Ursula, and a New Postulant. She has previously performed in BCA productions of Peter Pan, A Christmas Carol, The Wizard of Oz, and Mary Poppins. With five years of vocal training, she’s eager to share her talents with everyone.

Morgan Varner-Davis balances a life of medicine and music. She works as a nurse at ECU Health and lives in Greenville with her husband and their two spoiled dogs. She plays the flute in multiple local and international ensembles, but this is her first time being involved in a theatre production outside of the pit orchestra.

Rachel Lemon is a junior at East Carolina University and a proud Kinston native. She has been involved in theatre for 13 years and is ecstatic to perform in her sixth LCCFPA production. She’s especially excited to share the stage with her twin sister and the beloved Nun Ensemble, and she thanks her family and friends for their ongoing support.

Rebekah Lemon is a junior at East Carolina University with a deep passion for the arts, having performed in shows since 2012. She is thrilled to participate in her sixth LCCFPA production with the Nun Ensemble and sends heartfelt thanks to her friends and family for their unwavering love and support.

Rieneke Ausherman resides in Greenville and has been part of the Lancer community for about a year. She is excited to join the Nun Ensemble in this production and hopes you enjoy the show.

Suzanne Gallaher is a familiar face in LCC musicals and returns to the Turner Stage with the Nun Ensemble. Her love for theatre has led her to perform in a variety of productions over the years, and she’s delighted to be part of this one.

Gather your friends and family for a night filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable music as The Sound of Music fills the Turner Stage with joy this November.
