Lenoir County man charged with DWI after being involved in a vehicle crash
On September 7, 2024, at approximately 1:39 p.m., officers on B-Squad responded to a single vehicle crash in the parking lot of Walmart. Officers arrived on scene and located the driver, Randy Powell (43 of Lenoir County) unresponsive. Officers and Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue performed life saving measures on Powell. It is believed that Powell had consumed an impairing substance while driving, became unresponsive, and struck a guard rail. Due to receiving medical treatment, Powell was issued a citation for Driving While Impaired.
