A prayer for the church by Pastor William Hudson

A prayer for the church by Pastor William Hudson

Matthew 16:18 New International Version

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Here we are privileged to hear a personal and private conversation with Jesus. Jesus asked a question, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

(13) His inquiry expresses his concern for his true identity being recognized in the earth and if the disciples has identified who He really is, as it relates to His Divinity. Their response is based on what has been discussed among the people, though they really hadn't identified who he really was they did compare him to others who God used mightily in scriptures, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

(14) Simon Peter states Christ true identity, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”  and this response, prompts Jesus to say, that this understanding could only come from Divine revelation and on this confession of Divine revelation I will build my Church (Body of Christ) and the gates of Hades will not prevail (overcome) against it. Here's the Good News; sickness can't prevail, depression can't prevail, hatred can't prevail, and the corona-virus can't prevail. Satan Kingdom can not overcome the Church of the living God. Christ is faithful over God's house. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. No pandemic can halt nor hinder the power of God. Seek his presence continually!

Dear Father, help us as the Church to continue to rely on the Divine revelation of Jesus Christ. Lord allow us to find comfort in understanding that no matter what we are faced with that you promised that the gates of Hades will not overcome us. Lord we thank you and we ask that you continue to keep the Church, O God, and that we can rest in your love and for that we say thank you. Lord we thank you for preserving and protecting your Church God. We lift up your name and exalt you as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Lord continue to keep your hands on us Lord and heal those that are sick. We give you glory and honor. In Jesus Christ name we pray. Amen
