Kenneth “Ken” Eugene Davis, 78, passed away peacefully at Kitty Askins Hospice Center on Thursday, April 16, 2026. A memorial service to honor Ken’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at La Grange United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Grider and Rev. Ken Helms officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Elijah Ray Heath, beloved son of Cannon Ray Heath and Meghan Quinn Elmore Heath, entered into the gracious love of his family on April 8, 2026. Though his love remains in their hearts, his presence departed all too quickly on April 14, 2026. The family will hold a private graveside service at Westview Cemetery.
(RALEIGH) Today Governor Stein announced that the N.C. Global TransPark, a 2,500-acre multimodal industrial park in Kinston, and the U.S. Navy have signed a 10-year agreement that will bring more than 400 jobs to eastern North Carolina. The N.C. Global TransPark will support maintenance and aircraft overhaul for the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), which provides fleet support to all branches of the U.S. Department of War.
