James B Wade “JB” 91, of Kinston, NC passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. The visitation will be held for friends and family at Howard and Carter Funeral Home, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025 with the funeral service to follow. A private Graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery

Greenville man arrested on gun charges

On January 17, 2025, Kinston Police Department's A-Squad responded to a report of a subject pointing a gun at the McDonald’s restaurant located on W Vernon Avenue. The suspect was reportedly seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle. As officers made their way to the location, they observed the suspect vehicle traveling on Vernon Avenue near Queen Street and initiated a traffic stop.
