On Monday, September 23, 2024, detectives from the Kinston Police Department secured warrants for 21-year-old Bryson Bradley of Lenoir County. He is charged in connection with the murder of Korie Williams and the attempted murder of Yahmmek Coward, Lyasia Lawson, and Deshakeen Turnage.

On Friday, September 20, 2024, at approximately 8:50 pm, Kinston Police Officers responded to the 300 block of S. McDaniels St., Kinston, N.C., for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals who were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
