Dedication Ceremony for the Jones County Charters of Freedom Set for September 23rd at 1:00pm

TRENTON – The Declaration of Independence, United States Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Civil Rights Amendments are coming to Jones County thanks to the combined efforts of the County, working with Foundation Forward, Inc. of Burke County, NC.  These founding documents, known as The Charters of Freedom, are being permanently installed at the Jones County Civic Center, located at 832 NC Hwy 58 South, Trenton, NC 28585.

On the morning of September 1, 2024, Betty Lou Huggins lifted her 86-year-old eyes high towards Heaven and saw God’s arm reach down towards her. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Friday, September 6, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3006 Carey Road, Kinston NC 28504 with funeral service to follow. Interment to follow the funeral service at Oakridge Cemetery in Pink Hill, NC.
