Mary Neal Ranson Mills, age 97, of Kinston, NC, passed away suddenly but peacefully on July 1, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 8 at First Presbyterian Church of Kinston, 2101 North Herritage Street, with Pastor Travis Allen. The family will receive friends after the service.

NCDOT drops plan to remove traffic lights on Queen Street
The North Carolina Department of Transportation has dropped its plan to remove several traffic lights on Queen Street in Kinston after residents and city council members expressed concerns at a public hearing. Kinston man arrested for indecent liberties with a child
On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, KPD Officers responded to a residence in regards to a sexual assault of a minor that occurred previously. Kinston Police Detectives conducted an investigation and obtained warrants on Tony Gooding (42 of Kinston) for Indecent Liberties with a Child.
