Obituary: Ruby Frances Davis Allison
Ruby Frances Davis Allison, age 90, left this earth in the early morning of Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Spring Arbor of Kinston following a brief illness. A service to celebrate Frances’ life will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, March 16th, at Spilman Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. H. Powell Dew, Jr. officiating. The family will greet friends and extended relatives immediately following the service at the church.

KPD links vehicle fire and theft to Jones County case
KPD Detectives with the Investigation Division were actively investigating a vehicle fire that occurred on 02/23/2024 and a stolen vehicle report that occurred on 02/25/2024.
Two Arrested in Kinston for trespass and firearms violations
Officers from C-Squad and the Violent Crime Action Team attempted to check out with two subjects for a trespass violation. When the offenders saw the officers, they fled on foot. Officers apprehend the offenders and located 2 firearms.

Pink Hill community celebrates J. Melvin Jones Gymnasium renovations
PINK HILL – The Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce announced the grand re-opening of the J. Melvin Jones Gymnasium. Early registration for entering pre-school and kindergarten students in Lenoir County for the 2024-2025 school year will be held March 18-22 at all LCPS elementary schools from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
