Authorities have released the child's name in Sunday’s Pink Hill accidental shooting death. Evidence in this case will be sent to the SBI lab to be analyzed. Once the results are determined, the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office will consult with the District Attorney's office in reference to potential criminal charges in the incident.
Marcus Robinson, 38, of Coleman Lane in La Grange, was arrested Friday on several charges following the investigation into the distribution of cocaine throughout Lenoir County. A search warrant was executed on Robinson, who was currently on parole for previous firearm charges.

At approximately 9:30 this morning, a 3-year-old boy accidentally shot himself with a handgun inside a residence in the 5500 block of Murphy Road in Pink Hill. After being transported to UNC Lenoir Health Care in Kinston, the child was pronounced dead at approximately 11 a.m. today at the hospital.
