Virginia “Boot” Harris Spence, 88, of Kinston, went home to Jesus peacefully at home on Saturday, July 1, 2023 with her family by her side after months of declining health. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, and other times at the home of the deceased from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., July 10 through July 13, 2023.

Matilda The Musical features a young, intelligent little girl with the gift of telekinesis who is determined to overcome her hardships. Throughout, Matilda overcomes many obstacles caused by her unsympathetic family and heinous headmistress, Ms. Trunchbull.
On July 9th, 2023, at approximately 3:00am Kinston Police Officers were actively patrolling the area of 1610 N. Queen St. Kinston, N.C. in reference to a large gathering that had a propensity for violence. As the party began to end officers observed individuals running from the area and heard approximately 50 gunshots.
Now that July 4 has come and gone, I want to share one of my supreme irritations. As I drive from place to place, I see any number of displays of the U.S. flag. I am sure those who fly the flag do so out of respect for the flag and love for our country.

The board plans to conduct the sale through the upset bid process inviting interested parties to submit their initial offers for purchase.
