Drivers on Hill Farm Road may have noticed traffic islands on their daily commute. The islands are in preparation for an all-way stop that will be implemented at that intersection this week. The Neuse Quilters Guild, a group of dedicated quilters, donated nearly 40 handmade quilts and blankets to the Kinston Police Department (KPD) on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023. The guild meets every Wednesday from 10-12 at Spilman Baptist Church on Madison Ave Kinston NC, and the church graciously donates the use of their facility for the weekly meetings.
Louis Henry Howard, 80, passed away suddenly at his home in Kinston, NC on April 10, 2023. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Pink Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Woodington Ward with burial following at the Howard Family Cemetery.
Marie Ewell Spears passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at ECU Medical Center at the age of 97. A Graveside Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, 2 pm at Westview Cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
