Colt Davis, a sixth grader at Arendell Parrott Academy, has had his historical family story selected for publication in the eighteenth annual collection published by The Grannie Annie Family Story Celebration.
She benefits from having a role model and a volunteer’s understanding of the job and now, in her pursuit of a career as a special education teacher, Skylar Harrison has a clearer path to the college degree that will get her there. She’s a newly named North Carolina Teaching Fellow.
Musician Tony Kinsey gave a motivational speech at Neuse Regional Public Libraries on April 1, 2023. Kinsey, who has been performing for over two decades, has a passion for positive music that inspires and motivates people. He believes that music can make a positive impact on people's lives and inspire them to make positive changes.
David Lee Mooring, 66, of Kinston passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at UNC Lenoir Health Care. Funeral will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at North Lenoir High School Auditorium with Bishop Jeff Howard officiating. Visitation will follow the funeral. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at Westview Cemetery.
A man was arrested last week by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office after being charged with five counts of sexual activity with minors.
One of the most unusual organizations in our county is the CSS Neuse Foundation, overseers of the full-scale replica of the CSS Neuse II. For the past few years, the Neuse II has drawn anywhere from 4,500 to 5,500 visitors – even though the replica gunboat is only open to the public from 10 am until 4 pm on Saturdays.
