The Lenoir Re-Entry Council will hold a meeting at the Kinston Community Center at 2602 Vernon Ave on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. The guest speaker will be Melissa Radcliff, program director at Our Children’s Place of Coastal Horizons Center.
Western Carolina University congratulates more than 1,200 students named to the Spring 2022 Dean's List. To qualify for this honor, students must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher while completing 12 or more credit hours. Local students named to the Dean's List include:
Jones County 4H announced on their Facebook page a North Carolina State University Foods Day Camp. This camp is a day trip to Raleigh for ages 13-18. This will take place on August 3rd and will run from 6:15 AM - 6:45 PM, and is only $15 per participant. Kids will learn about foods and food production.

A new gas station with space for truck drivers has opened in Pink Hill. Midway Mart and Grill, located 15 miles south of Kinston and 14 miles north of Richlands at 8176 Hwy 258 South in Pink Hill, is a food service gas station with types of gas including regular gas, mid grade, and premium. They also have non-ethanol for boats and diesel for tractors.
After threatening weather canceled the first Summerfest of 2022, Downtown Kinston Revitalization has announced when the next Summerfest concert will be. On Saturday, July 9, 2022, The North Tower Band will be in downtown Kinston at Pearson Park for Summerfest!
