Greene County Middle School announced this week that Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation has selected them to receive new band instruments. These instruments include three baritones, five flutes, three tenor saxophones, two bass clarinets, and five trombones.

Lenoir County Line Dancers have won Gold at the Neuse River Senior Games six out of the last seven years. While most of the events were in-person, the line dancers submitted a video for their “Bootin Scootin Boogie” dance. They won Best in Show which means they will compete in the fall in the State Games.

The deadline for businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic to apply for Phase 2 of the Business Recovery Grant Program (BRG) is Wednesday, June 1. BRG will issue a one-time payment to eligible North Carolina businesses that suffered an economic loss of at least 20 percent during the pandemic. BRG is funded by the federal American Rescue Plan. The N.C. Department of Revenue is administering the program.
