Mike Parker: 'Message in Music' hits the stage at Funk Festival

From 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, the Kinston Music Park will offer fun and Funk as the African American Heritage Commission of Kinston and Lenoir County hosts its fifth edition of the Funk Festival. The park is located at Spring Hill and South Queen Street in Kinston. The Community Council for the Arts, Visit Kinston, and the North Carolina Arts Council also support this event.

Snow Hill Primary announces Terrific Kids

Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal. Celebrating National Drug Court Month

A courtroom is not a place where you expect to find scenes of celebration and tears of joy. Unless, of course, it’s drug court. This May, drug courts throughout North Carolina will join more than 4,000 such programs nationwide in celebrating National Drug Court Month.
