A section of Hardy Bridge Road in Lenoir County will be closed for two years while crews replace a pair of bridges
A road south of Kinston is scheduled to close for a pipe replacement project. Beginning Monday at 8 a.m., Parker Fork Road near Lightwood Knot Road will be closed to traffic to allow N.C. Department of Transportation crews to replace a bridge-sized pipe. The roadway is expected to reopen by Sept. 3 at 5 p.m.
Ross Pipkin, 77, of Marion, NC and formerly of Kinston died August 18th at the VA Hospital in Asheville, NC. Ross leaves behind a loving family and close friends. Surviving is his son, Ross Sikora of Asheville, NC and siblings, Penny Craven (the late Michael Craven) of Kinston, Joe (Cora Mae) of Trenton, Wendy Efird (Ronnie) of Norwood, NC, his very close friends, Debra Rector and daughter Danielle of Marion, NC, Nancy Mills of Mint Hill, NC and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many.
