Today, NC House Speaker Rep. Tim Moore (R-Cleveland) campaigned for Rep. Chris Humphrey (R-Lenoir, Wayne) in Kinston at the NC Cooperative Extension office, an early voting location. Moore is serving his third term as the presiding officer of the NC House of Representatives and represents Cleveland County. Humphrey, the incumbent, serves as the House Majority Freshman Caucus Whip and is facing challenger Virginia Cox-Daugherty for the seat.
The call from Airforce Two to the Kinston Radio Tower announced the arrival of Vice President Mike Pence with nine days remaining before the General Election. Pence jogged from the plane to the podium before he greeted the crowd who stood in the rain to see him.

If the turnout of voters in this first week of Early Voting continues to grow, we are in the process of witnessing the largest election turnout ever, both in North Carolina and throughout the country. Another interesting development is the rapid growth of independent voters.
A poll conducted Oct. 15-18 by the ECU Center for Survey Research shows a three-point lead (50% to 47%) for Democrat Joe Biden over Republican Donald Trump among likely voters in North Carolina. The Senate race between Democrat Cal Cunningham and Republican Thom Tillis remains a tossup with Cunningham holding a 48-47% lead, while Democrat Roy Cooper leads Republican challenger Dan Forest, 53% to 44%.

Folks, our nation as we have known it since our founding some 244 years ago is at a cross roads that we have never seen before. As I mentioned to our church congregation this past Sunday, this is the most important election in the history of our country. Let me tell you why – at least in this one man’s opinion.
November 3rd will be a defining and pivotal day for America. Reality tells us there is a “binary choice this election between America and radicalism”. The America as we have known it, is a Constitutional, orderly and civilized America where everyone has a chance to live the “American dream”. The alternate America we are facing is a chaotic, violent America, one where mob rule and tyrannical government control reigns. We live in a Republic, not a Democracy. Democracy is mob rule, but the media would have you believe differently. Not once in the Constitution of United States of America is the word “Democracy” mentioned. That is reality.

I am an African American unaffiliated voter, and I am also a pastor. I find comfort in the love of my savior, not in any political party. Like many of you, I am tired of listening to double talk from all sides of the political spectrum. I am voting for Jim Perry to represent our district in the NC Senate.
An enthusiastic crowd greeted Pres. Trump in Greenville today at his campaign rally. Trump spoke for well over an hour, touching on familiar campaign refrains such as immigration, the economy and taxes. The president also touted his administration’s response to the pandemic, and criticized NC Gov. Roy Cooper for his coronavirus response, and encouraged residents of the state to express their opposition for continued shutdowns to the governor.
