With November right around the corner, the veterans community is preparing to host a wide variety of events in Lenoir County the week before Veterans Day. The public is invited, and all the events are free to attend. One such event is the presentation on November 11, 2023, at the Kinston High School Performing Arts Center.
Disney's The Little Mermaid Set to Take the Turner Stage at LCC
Elysian Players Production of Disney's The Little Mermaid is coming to the Turner Stage in Briley Auditorium at Lenoir Community College Sept. 22 – 24 and Sept. 29 – Oct. 1. The production is presented in partnership with the LCC.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest
Officers on C-Squad conducted a traffic stop with Seth Griffin (22) related to a Driving While Impaired investigation. The investigation lead to Griffin's arrest for Driving While Impaired and Possession of Methamphetamine. In addition, he was also cited for additional traffic offenses. Griffin was placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond.
Lenoir County Board of Election delivers verdict on Pink Hill candidacy challenge
The Lenoir County Board of Elections convened its regular meeting on September 7, 2023, at the Elections Office, as part of their monthly schedule of meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 5 pm. The board members include Courtney M. Patterson (Chairman), Ella Clark (Secretary), Tommy Pharo, Marietta Jenkins, and Lucinda Minges.
Mayor Deatherage challenges opponent Mike Horne's candidate eligibility
On August 17th, current Pink Hill Mayor Yvonne Deatherage, who was appointed by the town commissioners to replace Mike Hill, filed a formal complaint with the Lenoir County Board of Elections challenging the mayoral candidacy of Michael Horne. The Board of Elections is scheduled to meet on Thursday, September 7 at 5:00 pm at the Elections Office.
Man arrested on 14 felony charges
A Dudley man was arrested today on 14 felony charges and placed in the Lenoir County Jail in response to multiple larceny and breaking-and-entering incidents at area sweepstakes businesses. The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office has been actively investigating the incidents since late July.
North Lenoir Fire & Rescue Firefighters awarded Medal of Valor
RALEIGH, NC - Four members of North Lenoir Fire & Rescue were awarded the Medal of Valor by the North Carolina State Firefighter’s Association (NCSFA) for their actions at a deadly explosion in La Grange in June of 2022. The awards were presented at the 136th Annual Meeting and Banquet of the NCSFA in Raleigh on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

What’s happening with faculty professional development? On Wednesday, Mrs. Siobhan Brewer, Director of Teaching and Learning, guided a group of faculty through a discussion around best practices in their first week of classes. Faculty were engaged in improving their own skills through peer-led talks.

Friday, September 8 marks the 15th edition of “Wings Over the Neuse,” the major fundraiser for the CSS Neuse Foundation, caretaker of the full-scale replica of the original CSS Ram Neuse.
LCC Instructional Studio Up and Running
Lenoir Community College has begun using its first instructional studio to transmit live instruction to local high schools. These state-of-the-art rooms are equipped with document scanners, whiteboard cameras, high tech cameras and sound, lighting, and more.
