Greene County Health Center awarded grant to maintain access to COVID-19 vaccines and treatments

Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) is pleased to announce that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded grants for North Carolina’s First Congressional District to maintain access to COVID-19 vaccines and treatments for uninsured individuals.

"Access to health care in eastern North Carolina remains my top priority. These grants are crucial in ensuring that individuals are not left behind and can access necessary vaccines and treatment,” said Congressman Don Davis. “It is a testament to the hard work community organizations do to help families across the East, and these funds will make a real difference and save lives.”

The FY 2023 Bridge Access Program allocated the following grants for NC-01:

  • Bertie County Rural Health Association: $12,404

  • Gateway Community Health Centers, Inc.: $19,691

  • Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center, Inc.: $30,956

  • Rural Health Group, Inc.: $67,229

  • Carolina Family Health Centers, Inc.: $143,662

  • Greene County Health Care, Incorporated: $422,030

The HHS Bridge Access Program will create a $1.1 billion public-private partnership to help maintain uninsured individuals’ access to COVID-19 care at their local pharmacies, through existing public health infrastructure, and at their local health centers.

As the grants roll out, the Office of Congressman Don Davis will work closely with local health care providers and stakeholders to ensure these resources improve health care access and outcomes in NC-01.
