Nearly 400 residents remain without power in Greene County after Dorian churned its way toward the Outer Banks early Friday morning. Crews from Pitt-Greene Electrical Membership Corporation (EMC) assessed the damage, including electrical stations. Most of the outage remains in Walstonburg, where 281 residents lost power before midnight Thursday.

At 5 a.m. the National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City update shows that Hurricane Dorian is a Category 3 storm moving North at 8 mph. Residents of coastal eastern NC should prepare for hurricane conditions tonight and Friday morning. All preparations should be completed this morning.
