John Robert Harris of Kinston, North Carolina, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Harris was initiated at Campbell University.
Lenoir Community College graduate Dominic English has been named LCC’s Dallas Herring Award recipient for 2023. She is one of the Great 58 in the North Carolina Community College System. The Dallas Herring Award was established to honor the late Dr. Dallas herring, one of the state’s earliest advocates of community colleges.
Soon-to-be Lenoir Community College graduate Joslyn Evans has been selected as the College’s Academic Excellence Award recipient for 2023 and is recognized as one of the Great 58 in the North Carolina Community College System.

Matilda The Musical will be held at Lenoir Community College two weekends in July and you won’t want to miss it. The musical's narrative centers on Matilda Wormwood, a young girl gifted with wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers. She overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school and helps her teacher, Miss Honey, reclaim her life.

Separate sealed bids will be received at the Lenoir County Public Schools Board of Education Building, ATTN: Mr. Nicholas Harvey II, located at 2017 W. Vernon Avenue Kinston, NC 28504 until 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, July 11th, 2023, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Conference Room.
The Golden LEAF Foundation announced that 215 rural North Carolina students were selected to receive up to a $14,000 Golden LEAF Scholarship. The awards include two students from Jones County, seven from Lenoir County, and three from Greene County.
