On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at approximately 6 p.m., members of the Kinston Police Department responded to a residence on the 600 block of Terminal St. Kinston in reference to an Armed Robbery. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who advised that two unknown black males entered his residence and robbed him at gunpoint.
KPD's Violent Crime Action Team and the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant for a residential home on Railfence Drive. The search lead to the discovery of a marijuana grow operation, drug paraphernalia, psilocybin mushrooms, and a AR-15 rifle. Savon Divontre Roberts (19), Jataves Ellison (19), and Joshue Javon Ellsion (22) were arrested on site and charged with the following:

On Monday, December 4, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department Criminal Investigations Division obtained warrants and arrested John Landrine, 65, of Kinston, for Second Degree Forcible Sexual Offense and Crimes Against Nature.
Detectives with KPD's Violent Crime Action Team conducted a traffic stop involving Qwashaun Herring. During the traffic stop, detectives attempted to serve Herring with an Order For Arrest. US Marshals picked up 40 year old Christopher Michael Caudell in Greenville, NC on 11/29/2023, after Greene County Sheriff's Office Investigators charged him with Attempted Murder.

A Lenoir County task force that included four different law enforcement units conducted search warrants and proactive patrols that resulted in six felony arrests last week.
The firearm used in this incident was reported stolen from Greenville, NC, and Carmon is a convicted felon. Carmon has been arrested and placed in the Lenoir County Jail under secure bond for the following: Attempted Murder, Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Injury to Personal Property.
On Sunday, November 12, 2023, members of the Colorado Springs Police Department apprehended Lewis without incident while investigating an unrelated matter. Lewis is being held in their jurisdiction pending extradition back to Kinston, where he will face Armed Robbery charges.
