SWAT assists in capture of armed robbery suspects in Kinston

On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at approximately 6 p.m., members of the Kinston Police Department responded to a residence on the 600 block of Terminal St. Kinston in reference to an Armed Robbery. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who advised that two unknown black males entered his residence and robbed him at gunpoint.

Investigators responded to the area and quickly observed the suspects as they fled into a residence on the 1900 block of W. Washington Ave. Officers observed one 17-year-old juvenile suspect leave the residence and he was apprehended without incident. Members of the Kinston Police Department SWAT Team and the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team responded to the suspect's residence. They were able to apprehend the additional 17-year-old juvenile suspect without incident. After a search of the residence, investigators were able to locate two firearms that were used in the crime. Both suspects were arrested and referred to the Department of Juvenile Justice for prosecution.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that one of the suspected juveniles had provided false information and he is in fact a 19 year old adult. His information and charges are as follows:

Zacchaeus Hussy, 19, of Hookerton, NC

Robbery w/ a Dangerous Weapon

Felony Conspiracy to Commit Robbery

Felony Obstruction of Justice

Hussy was also served 5 outstanding warrants for Failing to Appear.

He was placed in the Lenoir County Jail and received a secured bond.

The juvenile was charged with Robbery w/ a Dangerous Weapon, Felony Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, and Possession of a Handgun by a Minor
