Breanna Summerlin was arrested April 11 after a Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office investigation revealed she had stolen a vehicle from the Blue Hornet Store, 6409 Hwy 258 S., on April 5. The victim of the larceny had left her vehicle at the store; upon her return to the store, she discovered her vehicle was missing.
Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers announced today his office is actively investigating the case of Timeka Pridgen, who was reported missing from her South Street home in La Grange on May 12, 2001. Pridgen was 16 when she went missing.

On 4/11/2023, Ash Ren-Harvey, the owner of Roxie’s, reported that individuals had stolen items from behind her business on two separate occasions. Ms. Ren-Harvey was able to identify one of the subjects as Chad Thomas.
On Saturday, April 8th, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing that occurred near the 15 building of Mitchell Wooten Apartments in Kinston. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, Michael Bostic (60), who was suffering from a large stab wound to the abdomen.
Two males — a 19-year-old and a 14-year-old — were arrested for breaking and entering a La Grange residence on Sunday.

A statement from Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers on the incident of Saturday morning regarding Spencer Jackson:
An officer-involved shooting resulted in the death of Spencer Jackson, 31, of Kinston, in the early hours of Saturday morning. According to Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers, Jackson was a known suspect pursuant to a narcotics investigation. During the traffic stop on U.S. 258 North, Jackson left the scene and was pursued by narcotics division deputies to a residence on Hullwood Drive, where he entered a building on the back side of a residence on Hullwood Drive. Jackson came out pointing a long gun at deputies and shots were fired.
Wooten was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Possession of Schedule VI. He was placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond.
On Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department, SWAT Team, and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence near the 700 block of W. Lenoir Ave. Kinston, N.C. The warrant was a direct result of ongoing cases being investigated regarding the recent theft of a motor vehicle and homicide.
