LCSO: Woman arrested for vehicle theft

A woman has been arrested for stealing a vehicle and taking it to a salvage yard for scrap metal.

Breanna Summerlin was arrested April 11 after a Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office investigation revealed she had stolen a vehicle from the Blue Hornet Store, 6409 Hwy 258 S., on April 5. The victim of the larceny had left her vehicle at the store; upon her return to the store, she discovered her vehicle was missing.

Summerlin matched the description of the suspect by a store clerk. With assistance from the N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles, the vehicle was located at a salvage yard, where it had been sold for scrap metal.

Following the investigation by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, Summerlin was determined to be the suspect. She was arrested April 11 and charged with:

• Felony larceny

• Felony conspiracy

• Felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle
