The Kinston Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest related to Electronic Peeping on 09/03/2020 at 12:37 p.m. at Walmart at 4101 W Vernon Ave, Kinston, NC.
On Monday, August 31, 2020, at 3:07 p.m., Kinston Police responded to an assault on the 600 block of Madison Ave. Kinston, NC. When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim with a large laceration to his forehead. The victim was later transported to UNC Lenoir for his injuries. On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, officers obtained warrants for Marquis Omar Johnson, age 23 of Kinston, NC for his involvement in this incident. Mr. Johnson was charged with Felony Assault on an Individual with Disabilities and Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.

Vernon Ave on 01/02/2020. The subject was described as a black male between 20-30 years of age, 5’10” - 6’ 00” tall, and weighing approximately 200 lbs. On August 30, 2020, the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division responded to reports of someone shooting at a vehicle on Hwy. 58 South near the Southwood area.
David Jerome Stocks of Kinston and Anthony Lee Morgan of La Grange, North Carolina were arrested, pursuant to narcotics investigations conducted by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit.

On August 24, 2020, Officers with the Kinston Police Department arrested Spencer Lee Alexander regarding arrest warrants stemming from 3 counts of Felony Indecent Exposure.
On Tuesday, August 8, 2020 at 8:43 a.m., Kinston Police responded to a wooded area just off the 500 BLK of Beasley St. Kinston, NC in reference to a body found in the woods. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the remains of a female lying in the woods. During the course of this investigation, the female was identified as Carolyn Ann Suggs, age 49 of Kinston, NC.
On Saturday, August 23, 2020, shortly after midnight, Officers with the Kinston Police Department responded to the Westminster Lane area in reference reports of multiple car breaking and entering incidents. Officers located (4) car B/E incidents in the Westminster Lane area and another (14) car B/E incidents in adjacent neighborhood(s).
On August 22, 2020, officers responded to the Kangaroo (convenience store) on W. Vernon Ave. in reference to a larceny of cartons of cigarettes. During that time, it was discovered that the suspect entered the store and when the clerk handed him the cigarettes he snatched then from the counter and fled the area.

Over the last couple of months, Officers have seen an increase in Shed and/or Outside Storage Building Breaking & Entering’s. During the course of this investigation, Officers were able to identify Javion Rashard Murriel as a suspect in some of these incidents.
On August 10, 2020, William Ricky Yates of LaGrange, North Carolina was arrested, pursuant to a narcotics investigation conducted by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a burglary and arson at La Grange Guns-N-Gear (also known as S and J Hunting and Shooting Supply Shop) in La Grange on Aug. 4.
On Sunday, August 9, 2020, just after 4:00 am, officers of the Kinston Police Department responded to the 800 Blk. of Greenmead Dr. for a reported shooting. Officers arrived and discovered Kelvin Barrow age 36 of Kinston deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, shortly after 8 a.m., Officers with the Kinston Police Department responded to a small wooded area between the 500 block of Beasley Street and E. Blount Street in reference to the discovery of a deceased female. The identity of the deceased has been determined to be Carolyn Ann Suggs, age 49, of Kinston, NC. The Kinston Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are actively investigating.
On August 5, 2020, at approximately 12:00 pm Deputies with the Jones County Sheriff's Office responded to 387 Lee Mills Road to serve felony arrest warrants on Donnie William Mills. When Deputies arrived at the location Mills saw the Deputies approaching and attempted to flee in a vehicle. While fleeing the scene Mills intentionally rammed a Jones County Sheriff's Office vehicle with two Deputies inside.

Blount Street in reference to the discovery of a deceased female. The identity or age of the female is unknown at this time. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has been assisting with the investigation. This case is early in the investigation process and will be updated as details emerge throughout the investigative process.
