Family Dollar robbed - suspect flees on foot

According to the Kinston Police Department on 02/07/2020 at 7:56 a.m., Kinston Police responded to a reported Robbery at Family Dollar located at 608 N McLewean St Kinston, NC. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with staff who advised an unknown B/M in his mid-twenties wearing a black hoodie came in the store and displayed a firearm while demanding money from the sales clerk.

Kinston Police Investigate: Female set on fire

According to a press release by the Kinston Police Department, on Monday, February 03, 2020 at 10:52 am, a Kinston Police Department officer on patrol was flagged down by a passerby at the intersection of Bright and East Streets. On the sidewalk was a 24-year-old female, later identified as Khloe McNeal from Kinston, who was suffering from severe burns to her upper body.

According to a press release from the Kinston Police Department, on Monday, February 03, 2020 at 7:08 p.m., officers of the Kinston Police Department arrested 41-year-old Venice Taylor of Jacksonville, NC in connection with this case.

Kinston Police: Fatal stabbing, suspect in custody

According to a press release from the Kinston Police Department, on 01/14/2020 at 9:31 p.m., Kinston Police responded to the 7 Bldg. Carver Courts, Kinston, NC in reference to a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and found a male subject, age 29 of Kinston, with a fatal stab wound to the chest. The suspect, identified as Anthony Antwon Brooks Jr., age 26 of Kinston, NC, was taken into custody moments after this incident occurred near the crime scene.

Kinston Police make Attempted First Degree Murder arrest

According to a press release from the Kinston Police Department, on Sunday, January 5, 2020 Kinston Police with the assistance of the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Department located and arrested Matthew Alex Harrell, age 18 of La Grange, NC for his involvement in a shooting that occurred near the 300 Block of Richard Green Ct., Kinston, NC back in November 2019.

Lenoir County Sheriff's Office make Kinston drug and firearm arrest

Krisotpher Tyson was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of firearm by felon, possession of schedule II controlled substance, identify theft, resisting public officer and child support order for arrest. He was confined in the Lenoir County Sheriff's Detention Center under an $80,000 secured bond and a $1,908 cash child support purge.

Jasmine Ebbert was arrested and charged with resisting public officer and was confined in the Lenoir County Sheriff's Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond.

US Attorney: Thirteen Kinston residents sentenced to federal prison for drug and gun sales

According to a press release from United States Attorney Robert J. Higdon, Jr., he announced that in federal court, before Chief United States District Judge Terrence W. Boyle, twelve men and one woman were sentenced for their roles in selling heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, and guns to undercover agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (“ATF”) in 2018.

Original story: On November 30, 2019, the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office was notified of a missing person who was last seen at approximately 11:00 a.m. on that same date. Yazmin Concepcion Villanueva-Guzman, was last seen at her home in Pink Hill, NC.
